Rahardian Khevrianur clears first stage of qualifying round of Djarum Sirnas Flypower Banten Open

The budding Men’s Singles campaigner Rahardian Khevrianur of Indonesia performed beyond expectations and stunned Aldo Alfiansyah in the qualifying round of Djarum Sirnas Flypower Banten Open on October 16, 2012.

This epic tussle prolonged to 47 minutes before ending with final figures of 12-21, 21-16 and 21-11.

Rahardian Khevrianur, who represents Jaya Raya badminton club, showed commendable fighting spirit and saved the honour despite of going down in the opening game.

On the other hand, Aldo Alfiansyah failed to make best out of his initial advantage and surrendered tamely in the crucial moments.

The opening game set the overall tempo of match as Aldo played fast badminton and took the game to the next level.

He launched a brisk attack and pushed his competitor on the back-foot with couple of productive rallies in a row.

He gathered valuable points at steady pace and strengthened his grip before the announcement of one-minute break.

Later part of the game also proved a dead contest as there was no sign of resilience from Rahardian and Aldo Alfiansyah bagged the first match point with a notable difference in 21-12 margin.

However, second set did not bring much for Aldo as he had to face strong resistance in his successful run.

This time Rahardian played with right attitude and fortitude to avoid a straight-set defeat. He kept the bird low in establishing rallies and came out of his rival’s influence in no time.

Though, the opposing shuttler strived hard to maintain the upper hand but he could not tip the scale in his favour.

In first half of the set, both contenders stood toe-to-toe and did not allow each other to gain a permanent lead.

Finally, Rahardian geared himself and left his challenger far behind with a five-point difference in 21-16 total.

The spectators were expecting a lot of fireworks in the decider but their thirst was not filled as it turned into a one-sided affair.

Rahardian employed all of his brilliance in the game and confounded his competitor with a superb display of badminton craft.

He registered a winning score of 21-11 and setup next clash with Untung Anugerah in the qualifying round.
