Alvent Yulianto, Markis Kido power their way to main round of 2012 Yonex Denmark Open

Men’s Doubles experts Alvent Yulianto Chandra and Markis Kido of Indonesia proved their worth and cleared the qualifying round of Yonex Denmark Open on Tuesday, October 16, 2012.

It was an easy win for them as the twosome of Kasper Antonsen-Nikolaj Overgaard could not resist much and surrendered after a futile exercise of 24 minutes.

Markis Kido and Alvent Yulianto, who were unseeded contenders in this Premier Super Series, employed all of their brilliance in the game and stole the limelight with 21-15 and 21-12 margin.

They played with great precision and kept their rivals under their influence throughout this encounter.

The local pair looked completely confused in both games as they failed to follow an effective counter-attack strategy and knelt down without putting any resistance.

Kasper and Nikolaj put up a below par performance and disappointed their supporters in local badminton complex of Odense, Denmark.

They lost their nerve straight away in the beginning when the opposing team mounted pressure with a couple of consecutive points.

They let many valuable points slip from their hands and could not come out of this deficit until last shot was played.

Meanwhile, Markis Kido and Alvent Yulianto did not squander this opportunity and proved themselves superior in all areas of the game.

They ruled the court in first half of the set with 11-6 total and then dominated their challengers with a staggering knock of 21-15.

The second set remained interesting just until half time as the last part of game completely belonged to the Indonesian shuttlers.

Initially, the Dutch players showed their brilliancy in establishing rallies but they could not carry this rhythm and frittered away their effort when it was needed the most.

Kasper and Nikolaj matched their experienced competitors’ skills until 7-6 but then a few unforced errors triggered the collapse.

Markis Kido and Alvent Yulianto tipped the scale in their favour by claiming ten points in a row and then saved the honour by piling up an indomitable figure of 21-12.

Now they are scheduled to meet Biao Chai-Nan Zhang of China in their first main round encounter of 2012 Denmark Open.
